Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan’s explosive partnership propelled GT to set a formidable target of 231/3 for CSK. Captain Gill’s scintillating knock of 104 off 55 balls, comprising nine fours and six sixes, was complemented by Sudharsan’s blistering 103 off 51 balls, featuring five fours and seven sixes. Sudharsan also made headlines by becoming the fastest Indian to reach 1000 IPL runs, achieving the milestone in just 25 innings, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 31 innings. In his IPL career spanning 25 matches and 21 innings, Sudharsan has amassed 1034 runs at a striking rate of 139.17.

Yesterday’s match saw GT posting the second-highest team total against CSK, with PBKS holding the record from the 2014 season when they scored 231/4.

CSK’s batting faltered, with only Dary Mitchell, Moeen Ali, and MS Dhoni making notable contributions.
